my opinions story

In the society that we live in today, there is all sorts of judgement taking place whether we choose to believe it or not. Most people would like to say that they are judge-free and allow people to do what they please without having an opinion. However, that is never the case.

Personally, I even find myself judging people before even knowing them, based on what they look like. Although, I try my hardest not to because I wouldn't want someone judging me based off things that don't really matter.

I have also heard people talking about other people and labelling them as "this" or "that" just because of what they wear, or how they speak. Judgement can be vocalized, or simply be a mere thought in one's mind. Either way it's still there, and occurs all the time.

What's even worse is this criticism happens so naturally, that we don't even realize that we're doing it. But why is it? Why does any of it matter? It's not like what other people appear to be, or decide to do, effects our personal lives. So why do we care?

Most likely, we're bored and for some reason feel the need to make our negative opinions about other individuals public. By doing this, we're risking what we say about one another getting back to that person. Which can do damage to that individuals self confidence, whether they show it or not.

Personally, when I hear something someone else said about me that I didn't take kindly, I try to ignore it and pretend like I don't care. Sometimes I genuinely don't, but when I do, it makes me wonder what I ever did to that person to make them think that of me.

Words can hurt, and they definitely have hurt the people living in our society today. I don't think that we fully understand the power behind the words that we say. And maybe it's not even to that persons' face, but that doesn't mean they won't hear it from someone else.

All this is going to accomplish is conflict between us. Let alone that it's un-needed conflict that could've been avoided if we had just kept our opinions to ourselves. But maybe some want to create conflict just because they have the intentions of hurting other. Which doesn't make sense to me. Why put someone else down?

Judgement is a concept that's un-avoidable, but we can help it by not making our negative connotations vocal for others to know. For example, if you think something that maybe isn't the sweetest thought, don't say it out loud.

Some people believe that one can be judge-free and completely not care about what others do, and accept everyone. I think that's just the dreamed reality compared to the quite opposite true reality. As much as I'd love to think that the society we live in today was completely and whole-heartedly accepting.

But that doesn't mean I don't think that that reality can be achieved. I 100% think that we can change, and stop giving dirty looks at what we think isn't normal, because who are we to say what is and isn't socially acceptable.

The first step is for us to just learn to love the diversity that we have all around us. Embrace the different personalities, styles, people, etc. and make good with what we have. Because no, it doesn't matter about what you wear, or how you look, but the content of character.

final exam preview activity

http://knowledge-innovation.wikispaces.com/Basic+Skills+for+iMovie

1.  iMovie is an app that lets people make videos from their apple phones. It is very simple to use and there are many different options to chose from. People can add titles, filters, special effects, soundtracks, and other things too.

iMovie for iOS and macOS are specially made so that people can start editing on their phone and can switch to work on their iPad. You can transfer the video from iPhone to iPad from anywhere, regardless of wifi. After creating the movie, people can watch it anywhere, even their apple tv. The app also has great quality, making it funner to watch the videos.

2. i knew that imovie was for editing, creating, videos.
3. i didnt know there was special effects
4.im concerned about my theme
5. im confident that ill learn how to use the site easily
6. i would probably photograph something outside of school

https://support.apple.com/kb/PH14696?locale=en_US

1. This website goes deeper into detail than the first website I used. This website describes specifically how to adjust certain things while making the video. For example, it explains how to use the clip trimmer with pictures. I like how this website explains in detail how to use trim, but it doesn't explain many other things which I was curious about.

With the trim option, a person can cut out certain parts of the video that are unwanted or unneeded. With this option, you can extend audio or the video itself by selecting trimmer and dragging corners of selected frames/parts. an editor can make the video shorter, longer, take out sections, and edit the audio to make the clip more interesting for the viewer.

2. i knew imovie had a trim option but it explained how to use it
3. i didnt know you could change the audio
4. im concerned about the audio/voiceover
5. im confident i can make it interesting
6. i would probably take pictures of everyday events

Winning Portfolio Critique

The judges liked most of the pictures and enjoyed the story of almost all photos.
I thought peoples' emotions in the pictures were great. I didn't like that some photos were blurry.

Recap

Process: Look at portfolios, delete worst pictures, critique the better pictures, and chose the top photos

Parts 1-6

I agree with the judges about the first photo. I think theres nothing great ,or that stands out, about it and it's blurry. It's a picture of a man in a red sled.

I disagree with the judges about the picture of a girl with a goose. They thought it was pretty good but i think thats its plain and nothing i havent seen before.

student of the month story

Who: A student that was chosen as student of the month.

What: Chosen as student of the month.
When: Last week.
Where: Bowie High School.
Why: Chosen as student of the month because of politeness, attendance, and grades.
How: The principal announced it on the speakers.

Last week, Riley Hughes was chosen as the student of the month by the principal and teachers. This was announced over the innercom in the beginning of first period right after the pledge. The student of the month is chosen based on grades, attendance, and teacher recommendations.

It is important for many students in High School because it increases their chances of getting into college. Only 8 students are chosen every year as student of the month, so it is very competitive.Students that achieve this need to be highly recommended by their teachers, have good attendance, good grades, and need to be involved with many school activities.

Riley hughes was picked out of hundreds of students as Student of the Month. "She is a great student and it's not surprising she was chosen," Susan Leos, interim prinicpal, said. Many of Riley's peers also agreed that she was one of several students that would definitely deserve to be selected.

"There are many students here at Bowie. The characteristics that Riley obtains, is what we want at our school" Interim Principal Susan Leos said. Leos thinks that it is rare for students to be so committed and that she is proud of Hughes.

"She is so sweet and committed to her work in my class. I always see her going at it, getting things done," Math teacher Mrs. Dobrenel stated. Mrs. Dobrenel was not surprised when Riley was selected Student of the month. She was delighted to hear it and congratulated Hughes at school.

Overall, most students and administrators admitted that Hughes deserved to be elected as student of the month. She works hard to get good grades, she works well with others and has high respect for her teachers. If a student wants to be the next student of the month, Riley is a great example of what they should try to accomplish academically and attitude wise.
